Just along from Pinarello for all your hedge fund needs...

I work around the corner. The Pinarello shop is empty all day, every day. I went in to buy some cleats once, but they only sell full bicycles. Wanky, obvs.
-
• #104
You're obviously not their target market. Any credible Pinarello owner would not blink when told they cannot buy a pair of replacement cleats but must get a whole bike (and matching shoes obvs) instead.

They have a reasonable selection of kit, provided it's either Assos, Rudy Project or a handful of others. I bought a pair of Rudy Projects from them a few months ago, they were good in getting the combination of frames/lenses that I wanted fairly quickly.
...it's also handy to be able to try on various Assos items on for size, and then buy the previous years version online for 50% less.

I've recently start to work there, and I can say we simply don't sell (and stock) individual spare parts or accessories as we are mainly a retailer (and distributor in UK) for Pinarello, Corima, Assos (recently became self-distributed in UK), Giordana and Rudy Project.
Yet we can do upgrades and manteinance on bikes bought from us without charging for labour.
Just a stupid example, have you ever seen a queue in a Porsche dealer? As for the new Assos shop, it looks great.
We'll keep stocking their products and in the future we will act as sort of their factory outlet. -

I went in and saw the speedplays sitting on the wall. If they are only going to go onto purchased bikes, what's the point of showing them at all?
No queue, but nothing much else either. But hey ho, don't want to insult your place of work. All the best <3.

How would the factory outlet part work?
-
• #109
How long ago did it happen? Not sure why Speedplays were on display as 100% of our bikes are not fitted with pedals... apart from demo bikes obv...

I don't have details yet, but I will confirm once new year will arrive!
-
• #111
Still waiting to see someone actually inside this new "shop".
-
• #112
I'm going to go in later.
And if the winter tights aren't what I want I'll be walking up the road to the Rapha shop instead.
-
• #114
I've got the 607 bibh tights to wear over my S5 shorts and they're pretty lovely.
Bit meh in the rain, but you warm up eventually.
-
• #115
Yeah I went for the raphas. Annoyingly 20 quid cheaper now in the sale than I paid for them two weeks ago.
-
• #116
Just as I was about to go Assos for them... Rapha again ;)

Is it just me or are assos shorts a bit short in the leg?
I tried some on today and they feel super comfy, but the legs are about an inch too short. Maybe not too noticeable for some, but I have pretty long legs and it feels pretty noticeable that i have 'short shorts' on...
-
• #118
My old (s5's?) are short. The new s7's are longer and a perfect length for me. I'm also fairly sure they offer them in a regular and a long version too.
-
• #119
They used to offer long leg shorts in the mille S5s, but as far as i'm aware they don't anymore.
Shame as those s7s feel brilliant, i just can't help but feel they're a bit too short for my willowy thighs. More incentive to bulk the fuckers up a bit!
-
• #120
I find the opposite. My old ones are pretty much spot on but the newer blue chamois ones are quite a bit longer and looser around the leg. Probably a comfort thing plus being worn through hell and literally high water...
-
• #121
Managed to wipe out on a ride today, I think i'll have a thoroughly bruised arse but my Assos shorts were completely fine by the looks of it. Was fully expecting to have be showing off my arse for the rest of the ride.
-
• #122
Mille shorts by Assos are around 2 inches longer than all other models...
-
• #123
Mine went in the bin, how dare they fuck up my tan lines...
-
• #124
Are you sure that's not dirt?
-
• #125
Normally I'd suspect road grit, but what with that recent HEAT WAVE OF DOOM we had, I'm pretty sure it's 'skin death radiation'.
I'm lying about the shorts of course, they're lovely.
