One of the nicest handling frames I've ever owned was that big yellow one, that was trackish geo with longer rake fork and it was an absolute joy.
Admittedly was a little tall but Seatpost was at min insertion mark...

no, a longer rake will slow down the steering. If you take it to an extreme and have something that looked like a chopper then the steering becomes like pushing a wheel barrow where leaning does more than turning the bars. Likewise at the other extreme, if you have no rake at all just a straight line up from the wheel to the bars then it will turn on the stop, but if you try and go at speed it will be incredibly twitchy.

no, a longer rake will slow down the steering.
Longer rake = shorter trail = quicker steering.
Shorter rake = longer trail = slower steering.

a longer rake will slow down the steering
Quoted for preposterity.
More rake (fork offset) means less trail which means quicker steering response and less stability.

Snapped my chain on my bike. I don't trust Shimano anymore.
Will a SRAM PC-1170 chain work on my M8000 11-42 cassette?

Finished my Laurie Dawe beater parts bin build, needed a headset and chain, and swapped out bars and stem for a 3TTT 100mm quill and some cut down Easton monkey bars I had, wrapped in microtex.
Wheels off my njs, but ideally looking for a beater set. As it sits £240

It's the saddle sitting on top of it.

Awesome chainset. It's turned out really nice. Being picky I think a black Concor would work better, but overall, very good bike and garden.
