Road bike dropouts are typically practically vertical slots. I can't see how a wheel could get pulled forward. Maybe if you are using them in older style steel frames with the diagonally forward rear drop outs I could see that being a problem.
Stick your wheel in without a QR and push the rim between the chainstays
