Threw my system six together at the weekend and commuted on it today. Less seatpost than I'd like aesthetically but I was pleasantly surprised that it's not too long with the 120 stem so it'll be staying a while longer. It's not pretty as it's a parts bin build so won't post a picture yet but I've got build plans set out already

Did a shake down ride on mine yesterday and it was thoroughly enjoyable. Possibly psychological but it 'felt fast' (and laterally stiff yet vertically compliant).

Coming from a carbon bike about a kilo lighter than the cannondale I was very surprised to feel that it rides like a much lighter bike. Found myself spinning a higher cadence where I was more used to grinding a bigger gear on my bmc so that's odd. But yes I know what you mean. It's stiff in the right ways. The carbon soaks up road vibrations nicely whilst the rear end is nice and stiff, you really shoot forward with every pedal stroke.
Thoroughly enjoyed it. -

Yeah, definitely felt good climbing compared to my CAAD10 (I took 10% off a long held PR on a hill sprint) and less harsh on crappy roads.

Probably down to setup. The System 6 is a great frame. The CAAD10 is a modern frame :)

Caad12 owners, what are my options for decent inline 25.4mm seatposts?

thomson

I have the C2 but it only comes in 15mm setback. I managed to get away with this when i normally run inline posts.
there is basically no choice in 25.4 inline posts other than the thomson really.

@sacredhart Enve, although their 'inline' is actually 9mm setback.

Weather was great today so took this guy out for a spin after work. Such a different ride to my CAAD10.

The bike is designed for a layback post. Why fit inline?
I don't think bicycles in general have a seatpost setback in mind when it was designed.

Denk would disagree.

I'm going to swap my 25.4 Thomson for a Cannondale post with layback, if anyone is interested in it.
Cups where dry and had rust in them, after a clean found out they are pitted too and don't run smoothly. Also the plastic cap has some fractures and did not try tightening everything up yet but looks dodgy.
