  • I have just seen that now. L02A is what I needed and what I now have. I informed the Evans sales assistant of this the other day, but he reassured me that the wrong ones would work. (i didn't know they were the wrong ones at the time)

  • Tickslicks ... yay or nay ? and why ?

  • Been riding a pair on my skidder- so far so good. No issues with grip, have run in the wet (will prob have a major stack next ride now I've said that...).

I really like the look, except the logo where it extends to the running surface.

  • hey guys, just got myself a pair of Dt Swiss R24 spline disk.... i managed to convert the rear hub to 135QR but i am having trouble with the front.... i have a standard fork with 100QR and there are lots of adaptors in the dt swiss box, problem is, i cannot take out the "adaptor" the hub already has!! please help!!
    THX

  • I had this problem when I got mine. If I remember correctly it's just brute force. I seem to remember swearing profusely and sweating a lot. Mole grips and a towel to try to prevent scratching the end caps.

  • does anyone know if getting things delivered to a hotel in the US is a done thing?

I'm going to vegas for a family event in april and itll probably be my only stateside trip of 2017 so I want to get a few things ordered online

  • I've heard post offices will hold stuff. In fact, I'm kind of counting on it as I want to post my bike box from Astoria, OR to Yorktown, VA before the TABR race.

  • looking at the hotel im staying at now you can but its a 'business' service and they charge $15 per package, worse than royal mail!

  • I've done it before (one hotel I was at I got half a dozen things delivered to). One or two of them did charge though which is a bit cheeky.

  • I've ripped my coat, its a nylon/something mix. waterproof. tent like material

What patch repair kit should I be getting?

  • duct tape

  • Hey thx for the reply!! I also was about to use brute force but without having a good way to grab the end caps i just decided to return to the bike shop, he did it in 10 seconds with a soft vice with protected grip! perfect!!

does your QR end cap for the back wheel fall on its own if you dont have the quick release there? mine does...its still a snug fit but just does not want to stay putt!!!

  • I haven't used mine for a while, but I don't think it used to fall out... My new Novatecs have much looser QR end caps (was quite pleased about that when I changed from 5mm QR to 9mm).

  • Anyone got any good experience of transitioning their company from wasteful, not very environmentally friendly, to nice, sustainable company that uses innovative ways to minimise their environmental impact?

I'm thinking that my company (office based, multi-disc consultancy) could do with having a sort of environmental 'champion' who would come up, implement and track initiatives to reduce waste etc. within the office.

I'm wondering how easy this is to do in reality, and whether I should suggest it and possibly volunteer...

  • I was hoping for a less tramp like solution. With apologies to the forum tramps.

  • Reputable manufacturing company may sell a patch/repair kit.

  • the solution is always a new bike

  • I did this for a while at my last job. All I can say is that it can be really frustrating (depending on your workplace), so if you volunteer you need to be prepared for people to complain about everything that even slightly inconveniences them, and ignore even the most simple request - e.g. sorting recycling. It's quite shocking sometimes how inconsiderate and lazy 'normal' people can be.

That said, if there are enough mindful people in your office to create a critical mass, where that kind of behaviour feels unacceptable, it could be easier (and obviously rewarding) - really depends on the atmosphere of the office. There are a lot of quick wins that can make a big difference overall, sometimes you just need someone to point it out and make it a habit (recycling, switching things off, printing double sided, etcetcetc)

  • If I wanted to get a frame pump peg brazed onto my Volare, it is possible to get this done in London a. cheaply b.without fucking up the paint too much and c.without stripping the bike down?

  • without fucking up the paint too much.

It's black right? shouldn't be diffcuilt with a small dab of black paint carefully applied.

  • ask winston on 07840672646

  • It'll probably wreck the paint around where you braze it. Doubt you'd need to stripe the frame down. Where would you want the peg? You can use a piece of velcro to hold a pump under the top tube if you need, or you can use these.

  • Both of those look shit though - current setup:

  • Oh I know they look shit, but you can't do much else without a pump peg and adding one will (probably) require at least a local respray.
Try turning the pump around so the head is by the ST, then you only need to restrain one end and it will be (slightly) less visible. You could try a dab of sugru on the back of the HT? Or put the pump along the ST instead, head by the TT?
