I'd make sure to buy from Amazon. You get a good price, shipped to your house and a good returns policy - super important if you get a monitor with dead pixels.

Tho' sometimes even that isn't a guarantee... Not Amazon but... I bought a Titanium PowerBook BITD, the thing arrived from Apple with two dead pixels... I told Apple I wanted a new one and was told that two dead pixels was within tolerance and I'd have to put up with it... Of course I told them to fuck off and kicked up a massive stink with the CEO's office so they relented after a few days... But still... Cunts...

I had a quick look in PC World yesterday at their monitors, not much to choose from but they did have a Dell and a Samsung, screens both looked good colour wise, they we're showing game graphics so I guess they'd be good for design work as well... to me the Samsung looked slightly better resolution wise.
