What is the difference between telescopic and extended?

Length wise?

Extended is longer than the regular post. Telescopic is long outer post with a separate inner post that extends telescopically. ;)

Ah, your edit was too quick!

I dunno, but the extended was too short for me and the telescopic has a fair bit further it could extend.
