Haven't even had to pump up the tyres....

Sorry to hear, I live close by so can keep a lookout. Was it locked to the rails outside the entrance to the shopping centre?
-
• #2804
Bring it in for the free service, then sell it, this way you can says "serviced recently and haven't been ridden since"

Alas, it was lock to the first bike rack outside Halfords, so just across the road from there. Guy was stocky with a red n' black backpack and black hat. There was a nice couple having coffee across the road at the cafe, just by Waitrose who saw it all. But, before they realised what was happening the guy was already riding around the corner towards the bridge. Cut the lock clean through. Gutted, as I didn't even have the bike 24hrs from new!

Ah, that's shite.
Some credit cards give early life purchase insurance. Depending on how you paid for the thing, you might get some satisfaction.

Look good, but don't work - foul the fold. Think it's the inner chainring rather than the tabs, but i haven't got time to play with chainring spacers tonight so I've popped the square tapers back on.

It's usually the inner chainring is the issues when folded, especially near the hinge,
I for one would love to buy that chainset to compliment my Chorus groupset!

It's a double, you got the legs? Happy to sell if I can't get it to work.

Anyone selling a good condition Brompton before I go get a new one?
-

buy a new one! I am delighted with mine, and I found what I wanted OTP without having to wait 5 weeks.

Just modified a 'C' bag to work with S bars.
Hacksaw. Handle. Sorted. (With a little dressing from production paper).
Delighted. -

I find my C bag fits fine with S bars with no mod. A few years old though so designs may have changed.

So it looks like I have convinced myself to buy a new one... now the questions is, which colour? I really like the raw one but I can't justify the extra £165... specs might be changed, so don't worry about that for now...

Middle one for me.

Grey and red is a nice combination in my opinion

Got a puncture, fixed it. Carefully checked all around tyre and felt thoroughly inside for any sharp bits. All seemed OK.
Set off again and got another puncture (front wheel again) about five minutes later.
Walked to Finsbury Park and rode the tube to the train.
Enraging. I'll have to check where the tube is punctured. Having a look at the tyre now and it all looks fine from the outside.

Is the rim tape ok?
-

Haven't checked yet, just got home...
I did change the tyre sitting on a bench in the dark, so an inspection with some light might show me that I've missed something obvious.

I recently got a p*nct*re in a Marathon.
Close inspection revealed a doubly snapped off thin thorn,
just on the shoulder where the thick anti-puncture layer isn't,
but the tyre is still a few mms thick.
Just thick enough to hide enough thorn to get to the inner tube when the tyre was at the correct/worst orientation.
Had to use needle nose pliers to remove the thorn stub. -

For anyone who's interested, turns out I had a plethora of chunks of flint, glass and other crap in the tyre, buried between bits of tread and so forth. The bit that got through was flint, it appears.
That'll teach me to change tyres in the dark...
Edit: I've chucked a marathon back on there. Gonna see if it's really as awful and joy-sapping as I remember.

I'm 187cm, what (if any) decisions would that data inform when it comes to Brompton purchasing?

Extended post

I think you'd be fine with s bars and the extended seatpost. I'm a bit taller than you and found the s bars too low, it felt like my head was over the front wheel. Ended up going for the m bars in the end.
Did you even had a free service yet??
