I would suspect there would be a huge difference between the number of people who say they would cycle but think we need cycle lanes to be safe so don't, and the number of people who actually would if we actually had such facilities.
The boost in figures with ebikes implies that even further. Why don't more people ride motorbikes?
Fact is with the rising cost of living in London we are all moving further and further away from our places of work which is going to have a much bigger impact on the take up of cycling than perceived safety.
