<3 my Elemnt.
Only feature I miss is the pausing and turning off the Wahoo while stopping for a coffee break.
Apparenty Wahoo did says that this is in their forum, so least there's that.

What happens if you plug into PC with USB and manually upload the file to strava?
I've found that when the elemnt software is updated, I need to forgot strava from the app and then join again for the uploads to start working. Had to do that today.

I "forget" the phone on the Elemnt which seemed to help.

I did it manually in the end, but will try that if it struggles next time. thanks

took the plunge and these
do not fit wahoo elemnts despite their description. the fins are too large. I might try and modify it if they send me some refund moneyz without having to return it

ok so I am trying to load routes (gpx) onto my wahoo. I am at a hotel with a super difficult wifi system so I cant do the syncing via companion app
I have a USB cable and I can drop things into the "routes" folder with the android file transfer software. but it doesnt seem to find them? fucking GRRRRRRRR
edit: the wahoo actually managed to connect to the wifi (assuming as my phone can do it it somehow goes through that?)
either way it is a slight oversight from them. there should be a drag and drop gpx/tcx availability
double edit: it probably did it just through bluetooth as it seems it can do that with the most recent firmware update. which is nice too

Cons: On the chunky side
perfect match!

Cons: no touch screen.
Not a con in my world.

Edit: Fixed! Forgot it wasn't set up on wifi in my girlfriends house. I only realised after a factory reset.
I'm having a new issue syncing routes. It shows all the routes I've previously synced but when I hit 'sync' again it just flashes 'connecting wifi' for a while and then gives up.
Any ideas? I've unpaired and re-paired the phone but still no luck

Oh FFS what is this? I literally bought an Elemnt about 3 weeks ago.
-
• #41
It looks like the same internals, just in new housing?

and cheaper

fuck sake

I literally bought an Elemnt yesterday...
But having done some digging: https://the5krunner.com/2017/03/14/wahoofitness-elemnt-bolt-preview-whats-new-review-to-follow/
“It’s smaller than the previous model“. That’s pretty much the only notable difference
Reduced size and 1 hour less battery life, that's about it.

And cheaper by £100 according to the article.
Still, 15 hours claim is still pretty reasonable.

Well, the regular Elemnt seems to be £250 everywhere, so will the Bolt actually be sold for £150? If so, I'd probably be keen to get one and get rid of the 510 I'm using at the mo'. The Garmin hardware is fine, but software is dogshit.

It's £199

The bolt? If so, I'd probably go for the original Elemnt with a bigger screen. Not too worried about the size of the unit and I guess a bigger screen would be useful for navigation.
So far, 3000km and I'm loving it. Does what it says on the tin and doesn't crash like my garmins used to. Strava upload works fine
