Done. I'd hardly consider <1987 bikes to be 'vintage' though. I don't even have problems maintaining my 1956 Carlton Flyer or 1960 Mercian Superlight. Whilst some things can be more challenging to find than others, chains, brake blocks, rims and the like are all easy and cheap to find.
Now if you were to start producing Dura Ace 10 pitch track chain, then you'd do very well! In fact, obsolete block/skip-link chain and parts would probably have a good market too.
