Reassuring, thanks.
And yes, Seven did say that the main logos that they are putting on are paint, but they had initially included logos I would guess are stickers which would go under an outer gloss for "Made in USA" on the foot of the seat tube and tubing information at the bottom of the downtube.
As for the forks... they take them back to carbon?
This is basically how much things have changed in the decade since I got the Serotta. At the time of getting the Serotta I was advised to think carefully about the colours because once painted it could never be removed, the technique to paint carbon would always taint the carbon.
I didn't know if this meant "you can't go back to naked carbon" or "you can't take the paint off without having caused damage to the product"... but I took away the message that one doesn't strip paint or coating from carbon. Perhaps that was true at the time, not now.
Similarly, when they were painting the Serotta I enquired about matching components to the frame and was advised that whether that works boils down to "it depends".
The clarification that came suggested the materials involved and colour desired were the things that dictated how they would approach painting and that some parts wouldn't be done the same as the rest and that the difference in process may mean that over time differences in the appearance of the colour would occur.
Again, I didn't really push that, I just took away the message "materials matter and colours can change"... and perhaps they meant that some places wouldn't be painted multiple layers, or that they'd anodise to match rather than paint... I don't know as I didn't ask, I just took the advice and simplified by just saying "just paint the frame and forks then" and moved on.
Paint isn't the greatest concern for me (hence "pink, one colour") but I don't want Seven to do anything stupid that would bug me for years to come. The purpose of paint not being a concern is that I want the other bits to do the talking.
Sorry, didn't mean to come across quite as harsh as I did now I've read it back.
There shouldn't be any decals on a bike of this ilk to be honest.. everything should be done in paint. Most of the Enve forks are painted a slightly metallic matte black paint that looks like bare carbon. The graphic isn't a decal, it's just gloss instead of matte. Either way, this is irrelevant, as they should be taking the fork back to bare carbon before the start their paint process. The should be no 'outline' there to begin with.
