Pretty shit yeah. It will help me get my money back if they don't turn up today or tomorrow though.

Has anyone had significant issues with their Farsports/Cn*carbon etc rims with getting tyres on? I have always struggled getting my Continental Supersonics on and off but it was doable. Just tried to get a Corsa Speed on and it's not even close. My LBS tried and failed (heating the tyre up in water, washing up liquid etc). Any other ideas?

Mount tyre on another rim, inflate and leave overnight. Same issue with Corsa G+/tubeless compatible Light Bicycle rim when new but they go on/off OK now

Nope, brand new Vittoria Rubino Pro G+ went on my CN*carbon 50mm/25mm wheels just fine. They're not tubeless compatible though.
I found it slightly more difficult getting them on my DT Swiss R24s which are tubeless compatible.

Yep, struggled a lot with getting 25mm Vittoria Corsa G+ on my Farsport 25x35mm rims - managed eventually, but not without giving my thumbs a few blisters and little bit of help from a tyre lever.

Good idea, I'll give that a go.
Will throw everything (including talc) at it afterward.

never thought about talc. will have to get involved next time I buy new tyres

Fake Eyeshades from DHgate have arrived. Don't think the frame quality is as good as other fakes that I've had, but optics seem fine. Also don't think I ordered yellow, but yellow is what came. Took about a month.

What rim tape are you using?

Update on my wheel shipping saga, the guy has responded with a real tracking code. Despite having the item location set as within the UK and delivery as 3 - 5 days, they obviously got flown over. They're currently in a depot somewhere. They should have arrived on the 15th but he didn't even post them until the 16th. I've told him if they don't arrive today I'm going to pursue a refund and refuse the package if it arrives later.

Velox, off the top of my head.

• #5564
Yeah, try something thinner.
-
• #5565
Can't remember what I used on mine but tubeless tape will be thinner. That Orange Seal stuff in Condor is decent.

Well my wheels only went and turned up. Nice sized hole in the box but all looks well.

Interested to hear your thoughts on these once you get a chance. Build quality / weight etc. Which hubs did you go for?
-
• #5568
They're standard Novatech disc hubs. Not sure of the model number. Build quality looks alright, same as any other Chinese wheels I've bought. No lumps or dodgy carbon patches. Weight feels similar to my other wheels, probably around 1600 grams. The freehub feels a bit draggy, hopefully it just needs wearing in rather than being bone dry inside.

Anyone bought any foakleys reecently? lost mine today! Best place to buy? or is it still the classic aliexpress.com and find the one that looks least likely to be a bag of shite?
-
• #5571
Ended up ordering these, will see what they're like compared to the last pair. Probably exactly the same.

sooo looking for a carbon wheelset, i'm very picky so i've been thinking about going down the Chinese carbon route with the Rims then getting some second hand hubs and having them laced up.
full budget would be £300ish what are the forum favourite oriental rims that are rim brake compatible? ive heard CN Carbon are alright?

CN Carbon
Light bicycle if you want better but more spendy -

Any recommendations for someone who does 650 as well as 700 carbon rims?
-
• #5575
I've got a set of 50mm disc hub carbon clinchers from CN*carbon and thus far they've been faultless (although heavier than farsport's quoted weights.
I've also just bought these CN*carbon 50mm tubeless 50mm rim brake carbons for my brother. They haven't turned up yet, but they're pretty cheap and if they're of the same build quality as the disc ones, I'll be happy with them.
That's pretty shocking behaviour, no?
