The blame lies entirely with a colleague who unbelievably wrote in my birthday card on Monday 'may your day be filled with punctureless tyres'. I suppose strictly speaking she was accurate, but still.

Lovely easy tailwind in today. Looks like 30-40mph gusting headwind home. Big lunch needed.

Better than the Camberwell New Road? Like you say, it moves fairly quickly, and it's the most direct route.

Most polite shout ever at Kentish Town red lights this morning. A guy driving a BMW i3 straddling both lanes as I squeeze past winds down his window and shouts 'Excuse me, be careful.' I waited for 'you c*nt' but it never came. Most odd.

In New York I had a woman in a car shout at me "Excuse me sir, please be careful"

Not many other Doris bikers out there today.....

I left early from Croydon and didn't see another cyclist until Stockwell.

Had Doris from behind the whole way. Lovely.

Timed that wrong- luckily managed to scrape together a change of clothes from locker/desk drawers/wardrobe so just slightly wet feet now.

That was wild.

Rode the tube, checked the weather and it'd pretty much be deadly gusting sidewinds both journeys. Didn't fancy my chances on the Brompton. Tube was boring and I can feel my waistline expanding already.

So many people looking the wrong way down the Blackfriars cycle lane and stepping out in front of me. Arseholes, every man-jack of them.

London is like that these days I'm afraid. You need to do stupid people's thinking for them all the time.

BTW : I loathe what they have done to Blackfriars road, was nothing wrong with it, fast, straight if you couldn't ride a bike safely down it then I wonder...

When I occasionally commute along it since the works I'm more wary of the 'Peleton' than of quat chewing mini-cab drivers.
