I have one of these on another bike, the quality is very good for the price but the clamp is a complete pita to adjust as the head of the front bolt is facing up under the nose of the saddle, have to adjust it with a pair of needle nose pliers !

I've just bought a Cannondale 2-bolt post with slight layback where the front bolt goes down. It has a splined wheel attached to the bolt so you don't need to use an allen key, but it's a lot harder to get the angle right: the tigher the rear bolt goes, the harder it is to turn the front one by fingertip, especially if your saddle has short rails or is hanging way back in the clamp.

A lot of brand name seatposts use the same system.

I ordered some 38mm carbon disc brake wheels and they've just been shipped. Should be here early next week because it's from a UK seller. Just in time for Thundercross.

Link? Clincher? Max PSI enough for road?
-
• #5532
pretty sure they are road rims so psi should be fine, although the seller doesn't give much information. 23mm wide, probably 17mm internal which should be fine.

Thanks for the recommendation

Bulletproof vest anyone?

Anyone have a rough idea of how long it takes for customs to clear stuff? Wheels were dispatched from China on the 13th and are already in UK customs!
-
• #5536
I think mine took about 3 or 4 days. You can call up parcelforce as soon as it's left customs and pay the fee over the phone, rather than wait for the invoice to show up.

Rowdy, danké

My wheels shipped on the 11th and have cleared customs - I called Parcelforce up to pay the charges before a letter arrived and they should be delivered on Monday.
£37 quid charges, not bad I guess.

Anyone got a link to a full carbon SMP without the weird bit I've circled?

Thinking of getting some Light Bicycle rims on a disc hub at the front and a free/fixed hub at the back. Their online custom order page doesn't give that level of flexibility, has anyone put in an order by email before?
-
• #5541
I got immediate email follow up after an online order and they respond to questions posted on their site too
-
• #5542
they are really quick on emails

Why? But two years warranty, can't argue with that!

Mistakenly bought two pairs of faukley EVZero glasses so offering one of them here if anyone wants. They're not the best fakes, one arm is a bit stiff and missing the oakley 'O' on one shoulder but it's black on black so not really noticeable. Comes with all the guff you'd expect: oakley branded hardcase, softcase and cloth. 3 lenses, spare nose thing and a magical fishing picture.

Yesterday was the last day of the expected delivery window, emailed the guy, he replied saying "sorry, we're busy, can you wait another 7 days?" So I'm cancelling those. Also he gave me a fake tracking number. What's the bloody point in listing a 3 day delivery time when you don't even sent it. Sigh, got to use my shitty wheels for Thundercross now.

Had Parcelfarce 'leave a note' twice this week, so I asked them to drop my wheels off at a post office. Even with their opening hours, I have a slightly better chance of actually getting my hands on them.

at least you'll have something tangible to blame loss on H.

That and being shit at cyclocross
Can anyone recommend a 27.2 carbon inline seatpost with a decent clamp? Both helix and the vcls copy seem to get mixed reviews..
