Alternatives to Isopropyl Alcohol (to remove handlebar grips) that I might find in a modestly stocked provincial town (there is a Wilko).
WD40 or any other 'fuel' spray, deodorant, perfume, GT85, etc.
nail varnish remover is watered down acetone
just use deodorant to remove / fit grips. screwdriver under the grip, lift it up a bit, good spray under the grip, remove
