  • Currently working on this: french track frame 'vanhaelen' made out of Camus tubing. I built it up with parts from my pub bike (the gazelle in the background) and bits from the parts bin. This week I'll be getting one of those kalloy sr-copy seatposts since the fluted seatpost shown in the photos is about 3cm too short. I also bought a 3t pro chrome stem since the stem from the parts bin doesn't look trustworthy and isn't level. I was wondering what would be the best way to get rid of the logos on the 3t stem, acetone? The shimano 105 road cranks are also temporary, I have a pair of sugino mighty road cranks with a black 48t chainring which look nice and tie in with the budget theme of the bike. If i put the 48t ring on it, I'll put a 17t cog in the back - can't argue with 48/17. Would be nice to relace the rear wheel eventually so as to have matching silver spokes and box section rims.

  • jesus they cleaned up well. Also, aquasure

  • Just done one side of each.

Also the Effetto Mariposa tape puts all other tape and glue to shame and makes clinchers seem like a hastle.

  • have you been kidnapped by a rapha wearing tubular tyre user indra?

  • Also I forgot to ask, were the tyres you ran on Saturday dugast Ernst with black sidewall? Had been looking at those for a while.

  • he's a mess. we're plannin and intervention.
I havent seen him skid in months. let alone break anythin

  • yes, I am become mamil buyer.

  • no, they were Specialized Terra front / tracer rear. The tracer is shit, terra is ok.

I'd think the Ernst are a bit overkill for most things, especially coming into summer. I ran Rhinos all winter and never felt like I needed more grip in the mud

  • is that a tubular rim with internal nipples!?

  • Unfortunately yes...

  • Fair I somehow had it in my head you were running dugasts.

  • NDS Fail!! lol

  • I had Dugast Rhinos on Sunday

  • finished this today

  • Nice reminds me of my plum. Look forward to seeing it built up

  • my size, first dibs

  • FuManchu bars - where to get? Google is giving me a lot of 70's ultra-manly men and not much else

  • Call alpkit and order

  • Also, if someone is parting from their old CNC brakes from Planet X in black, give us a shout yes?

  • Cheers Amey Google-san.

Looking at the possibility to fit a pair of Strada Biancas on my CAAD10.
Takes 25c no worries, lots of room for wider tyres so skipping the 28c ones - brakes are the achilles heel I reckon, therefore CNC brakes.

    1x11 is on there already.

  • Done, sorry for the crap pic.
Marin highway one (C99), FSA finishing kit, 39x18, gusset cog & tensioner, FSA carbon team issue cranks (was tripple), worn 9spd chain, I'll replace with SS specific when I'm not skint if it works well enough, conti tour ride 38s, cheap brev grips & a wtb V rocket I had in the spares box.
Not bad for a free bike 👍

  • The Pizzarack needs some adaptors made as the original Awol ones are different from those you can buy seperately. BB is awfully low with the 650b-wheels but the frame only fits 25mm/700c with guards.
