  • After putting some monies on the side whilst dreaming of a rad touring build,
I got my heart set on the Surly Straggler for it's super versatility, disk brake support and glitter pink version. I loved this build a lot, it was almost that but with rack + mudguards. (and belgian stack)

The other day I went to try some Surly sizes, and was quite saded. comes only in 46 or 50 and not in 48, which - although i usually ride 50 - seems it would have been the perfect fit.

The other side of the problem is that in smaller sizes the geometry of the frame is not very flattering. I like a beautiful horizontal-ish top tube, it might be sassy or superficial, but I can't help it. Not being super tall shouldn't mean my bikes will look like toys :-(
For a bike that will be potentially quite expensive and with a long life of adventures ahead of it, I'd like to get things right.

Would you have any other recommendations for disc brakes frames with all the eyelets and whistles ?
    Current discussion includes
    Soma Wolverine
    Soma Double Cross
    Genesis Croix de Fer
or potentially custom - if it would prove to be the only way.
