  • Cheapest of cheap Velox bar tape I'm afraid. I do like it though, have it on a couple more bikes.

  • Built this Master up to use this year. Previously the group was on another bike which is having its forks chromed at the moment. Not sure I'll keep the old frame/forks when they're done as I much prefer the AD10 colours.

  • Hi colnago lovers,
    I present my Tecnos:

  • Need help to identify this Colnago

ps: sorry the size of pics

  • A picture of the whole bike may help

  • ^^ Superissimo.

  • Could be a Super Piu too

  • Thanks for your help,
    I think @606 is right

sorry @SideshowBob at this moment this is the best picture I have

  • from Steel Vintage Bikes:

In the late 1980s, Colnago gave its former flagship, the Super, a facelift and added some extras. The then new Model called Superissimo featured chromed head lugs and an internally routed rear braking cable. The seat lug cluster went through some modernization, too, whilst the successful geometry got even more sportive with a shorter top tube.

  • Goodness, @JusCos, now I see why you didn't post for ages. You surely left me biting air for a couple of days. ;)

  • Cheers @WimVDD

I haven't posted much you're right but still checking in to see what's going on. You have been very busy too, that Merckx is something else, very special. I broke down your Rabo Master a while back to put the group onto something else but that's nearly been built up again with C-Rec this time. I love that paintwork soooooooo much.

  • Hmmm, you make me curious about the Rabo, @JusCos

I've been busy, that's true, and there are some 'nago's coming up too:

  • Do you think it's a Master Piu?

  • Could be a Colnago Superissimo Brain like this:
    https://www.steel-vintage.com/colnago-superissimo-brain-classic-frameset-1990s-detail

    What do you think?
    @WimVDD , @deleted and others

  • Nope, defo not a Master, wrong tubing but the short rear dropouts are mid 90s and it was '95ish that Colnago used the master type lugs with the 3 points for the elegant (it's not that though as it's not oversized tubing and has different seatpost lug).

I think @606 has nailed it and my Super Piu mention was off the mark.

The Superissimo with Brain tubing in your link is a dead ringer. Same 3 point lugs, short dropouts etc.

  • That late 70s Super is very nice. I love the colour. Is it a repaint or just a later downtube decal? Lots of nice Panto parts I can see too. Did you build it up or find it like that?

Super Profil will look amazing in that colour. I guess the box of SR is destined for it

    These aren't Superissimos, they're C94/5/6/7.

Could be a Colnago Superissimo Brain like this:

    But this one is.

I found it like that. Parts have 1979 stamp but I must admit I actually didn't question the bike that very much. I bought it in the first place for all it's panto parts (stem, chainring, brake levers, seatpost) so I could put them on my Super Profil (that some say is a Nuovo Mexico - I don't mind any more). The Super isn't my size so I probably will sell it as frameset. Or I can put some of my spare Nuovo Record stuff on it and sell it as complete bike. I first have to finish my Merckx Professional before I really start thinking about what to do with it. ;-)

  • love that Super Profil , has it got crimped chain stays on the inside if not i think Nuovo
regret selling my Nuovo ,I would love another

  • Thanks for your opinion,
my colnago seems to be a superissimo brain
although my forks is straight and the other (steel vintage bikes) is curved.

  • The Superissimo came with the Precisa forks originally, so that's all good. They're supposedly an advance on the curved ones.

  • Are they worth a thing, those Superissimos with Brain tubing? I don't kn ow where to situate Brain...

  • Inside the head... tube ;)

  • Finished this In 2016 following a crash and probably departure from racing for a while.

Never got round to posting in here.

Always wanted this frame in this colour!

Haven't managed to really put it through its paces yet but has definitely confirmed my love for Colnago's!

  • Will probs get some gumwalls when I get round to it.

Still unsure on which bottle cages
