I get an error of Could not move extension directory into profile when I try and add new extensions into Chrome. I already had a number of extensions working but couldn't add anything new. Tried a few different extensions and got the same error.
I uninstalled Chrome and reinstalled it and now I can't add any extensions. (I also tried emptying the recycle bin which some say fix it.)
It may be because I don't have administrator access (although I installed add-ons previously) but I can't see anything about installing chrome to a different path. Using Windows 7.
Any suggestions to fix? Cheers

I need to get two frames to a stripping places in Dartford. I can't get them down there myself easily, as I'm working during the day.
A) what's the cheapest way to get them there?
B) is there a frame stripping place nearer central London which will do aluminium frames for £30 a pop?Thaaaanks

If Julian can't do it, I probably could.
@MechaMorgan - ColourTech?

I like the look of these, but can't bring myself to pay what they cost.
(images can be zoomed right into)Can anyone think of a way to DIY something similar (ie the wire look) without welding or machining? I have a few ideas for the clamping section, but can't think how you would fix the wire section to the headlight mount without welding to the washers.
... or could it be as simple as having a tight enough curve to hold a bolt?
Anyone got any bright ideas?

If you've got a tight enough curve you could do either a washer either side of the wire or a bolt with a big head and washer the other side. Would make assembly more fiddly but it's not like it's going to be under huge loads?

That's a good idea. A nice big bolt head could look good if I get a stainless one and polish. Serrated washers should help as well.
I was thinking about threading the end of the wire and screwing with threadlock into some female lifting eyes (tidied up of course).

Might folded eyebolts, (Orbital Fastenings code 3141000),
long shank dynamo eyebolt, (OF 2711200), or
joint connector nut, (OF 5025000),
or, even,
D-shackles, (OF 2931010), (one on each side of the lamp?),
be of use? -

It is indeed colourtech - are you local?

Ta - probably the wrong side of town for me, but looks like it would be worth dropping by if I'm over that way.

I'm sure I've seen an early mtb suspension fork that was a linkage type add on thing for a normal fork.
Kinda like this Joe Murray Futureshock but worked with a bog standard rigid fork.
Anyone know the thing I mean? My google-fu is failing me.

Alternatives to Isopropyl Alcohol (to remove handlebar grips) that I might find in a modestly stocked provincial town (there is a Wilko).

WD40 or any other 'fuel' spray, deodorant, perfume, GT85, etc.

WD40!
Is there anything it can't do?

nail varnish remover is watered down acetone
-
• #82072
Or it can be ethyl acetate (I think).
-
• #82073
just use deodorant to remove / fit grips. screwdriver under the grip, lift it up a bit, good spray under the grip, remove

Nail polish remover used to be acetone,
Acetone, (dimethyl ketone), CH3COCH3https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acetone
Concerns over volatile organic compounds
led to its replacement with the less volatile
ethyl acetate, (ethyl ethanoate), CH3COC(OH)CH3https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethyl_acetate
isopropyl alcohol, (IPA, no not that one, isopropanol), CH3CH(OH)CH3
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isopropyl_alcohol
improves the wetting of ethyl acetate.

Top tube bags. I have a small Deuter bag, but when mounted to my skinny steel frame the Velcro straps don't mate properly and the excess strapping catches on my bibs when out of the saddle.
Sooooo....what can people recommend, either as an alternative or something I can do to bodge what I've got?
A bit of the leg of a pair of tights?
A moose's oesophagus?
