thoughts / feels on the new steel vig?
Aside from the gash paint job and the out of place looking carbon fork, quite interested to see how it feels

I'm quite interested in that too. Really want to change to a steel crit bike what I could use on track too and for the streets as well. Haven't found many frames that would do all these, but this one seems to be a good choice.
I quite like the paintjob too, a red sugino zen would appear so rad on it. (pun intended) -

Fancied something a bit more colourful than my trusty black langster.

The steel Vig.....
Off the peg bike or frameset and self build ? -
• #3761
Yep @853Superfly frameset with donor parts from the old bike. Will get a complete bike pic tomorrow in the daylight and not with the cluttered backdrop of my garage. Much as I loved my Langster, steel is my preferred material so really looking forward to giving this a spin.

Been waiting for a steel Vig to pop up :)
Although my grim reality is i am not the target market/buyer of a Vig as i would try and mount a rear brake on one as it would spend most of it's time single speed, and i can't fixed skid :( so can't rely on that for braking :( learning this the cheap way with a Dolan, enjoying the lightness of Alu but also looking for something steel.
Definetly would though, or it's older sister a Supercorse Pista.
I will have to dream on and enjoy this thread.Piccys when your ready yetidamo :)

Gazzetta ? Heavier, but cheaper than a Vigorelli. Significantly cheaper (5th of the price) of a Supercorsa Pista

Should have bought a Gazzetta frame when PX had them on sale ages ago, couldn't afford it at the time. But a Gaz is welded and the Corsa is lugged, i like a nice lugged frame, i would be tempted to go on a Downlands bike building week for what a Supercorsa would cost.
Only ever seen Vigs hanging on walls at trade shows, and the first RHC London.
But i think i am looking at the wrong bike for me as they are very focused and racey, looking at others peoples is free :) -

Can't wait to see pics! Looks promising.

I don't think that should stop you. Don't do skidz either but perfectly happy using the legs and a front brake.
If you want more relaxed geometry, what about a Condor Tempo?
-
• #3767
Might wander into Condor anyway...... something on sale...
Any shops in London carry Vigs in stock and on display ? tempted to have a look see at the steel one.

@853Superfly I'm not a "skidder" either, but as @spinnnout said, a front brake and some resistance applied by the legs works perfectly well. Wrecking tyres isn't mandatory if you ride fixed.

So managed a quick blast at lunchtime as the sun was out @853Superfly @kjlem got some pics :)
Used a different wheel as it had the 14t I wanted to ride on a short blast. Handling much crisper than my 2006 langster and the front end was noticeably stiffer when honking up the inclines. The rear felt planted is the best way I can describe it. Really happy with how it rides from first impressions.

Very nice.
Bright colourways :) having mostly had black on black bikes, a bit of colour is nice :)

Looks really good

Thanks @umop3pisdn I'd prefer no stackers but my T-Rex long legs/short body mean I needed a small for the right reach but the short head tube means I do need a spacer or two. Most of my bikes I've slammed the stem, but I think that would make this uncomfortable on some of the longer rides I have planned for it. I have a matching rear wheel for the front which I'll probably normally use and I'm on the hunt for a black toupe as the white one doesn't look right.
It's pretty nimble from first impressions: https://www.strava.com/activities/893322562
