Seen this; cat d due to fairing damage, but just passed MOT so must be straight.
Tempting to have a look, owner has no history though.https://www.gumtree.com/p/suzuki-motorbikes/suzuki-gsxr-750-k4/1216291027

Deceptively small those, you not gonna be hunched over it?
-
• #9229
Hunched over a speeding gix?

Nah man, be okay.
Can always stretch out if need be. -

Nice! I'd have loved to have gone to the Bol d'Or back in the day when it was all done on a shoestring budget. Tales of Terry Rymer going faster at night than in the day and the Frenchies not being able to get their heads around it.

Similar'ish dimensions to the SV, but a bit lower seat height. If you want to try that, you're more than welcome.
Burwin's gets three thumbs up, knowledgeable, great attentive work, fast, updated me, went the extra bit, and really reasonable bill.
Also...I want to try some track...where should I start?

I always wanted to go to the Bol. Never had a bike for it before they moved it. Isn't it back at Paul Ricard now though? Even though the F1 bozos turned the track into a soulless expanse of Tarmac.
Big fan of too-tall-Tel. There's a cracking picture of him folded up on the lucky strike RGV500. Think he was sitting in for Daryl Beattie.

A concept, but nevertheless stunning IMO:

It would be even better if it were based on a KTM
-

Don't get it.
If we had hover technology we wouldn't be using a combustion engine. And the suspension makes no sense. -
• #9239
They built it from parts already in the box

Surely there to help with turbulence?

And clearly didn't want to leave any out!
-

I was assuming the suspension was there only for when you touched down again. But im no mechanic or engineer so no idea if thats correct or not. I have the lego kit that this references and I havent built it yet so I will at some point build the hoverbike version.

Well that was fun. Shoulders are knackered today. Mud was splendid.

Ooh, shoulders and neck are worse now. What is bad on day one is worse on day two...

Anyone recommendations for a decent used boot to look out for? Something genuinely waterproof (or at least was when new), moderate high, moderate stiff for slight offroad but still able to walk in without getting serious calf blisters.
-
• #9247
Most Bmw boots are well made and if you can find a used pair , the aerostitch boot that was made by sidi is very good.

So, motorbike was back with the garage today for a proper look over re: the damage from the hit and run. Mechanical issues:
- Cracked ignition barrel
- Stretched / damaged steering lock mechanism
- Damaged top yollk
~£1,500 w/o labour if you don't fix the steering lock fully (requires new frame!).
Cosmetic is being left as we'll deal with it at the end of the lease.
- Cracked ignition barrel

Probably not on brief, but I really like my Stylemartin Indians. There's a used brown pair on ebay in 43 I think.
They are waterproof.

Shit that sucks.
My uncle used to work with Phase One - went over to Le Mans a couple of times when I was a kid. Last time I was there I was 10 (so 1996), milling round the pits and chilling in the team caravan, didn't feel glamourous back then and looking back was definitely far from glamourous, pretty cool though. They didn't do very well in those days IIRC. Ragging round the campsite on a dirt bike was fun as well.
