• tbh I did all my riding around Bath last year on 53/39 and a 12-25. Didn't feel like my climbing suffered much. I'm also lighter now than I was then.

    After an hour of climbing, you really wanna get that 28t sprocket.

  • I take your point, but to be honest, I'm going to be riding in England 98% of the time (and that's optimistic). No point speccing a bike up for alpine climbs when I am probably going to be fucking about in Kent.

    I have decided; 52/36 x 11-28 will be sufficient for my needs.
