Dunno, you need a plastics expert I guess. You might be on to a winner with some slick honey. Apparently it's elastomer friendly.
Keep it out of ozone, oxygen and sunlight? :)
I managed to get replacement elastomer for the 99 f1000 Cannondale fork.
Is there anything that can be done to preserve it? Slathering it in suspension fork grease?
(Yeah yeah it's a bad system but if it's that or a frame in the tip I go for fixing...)
