  • Train down on Sunday morning. Can't make the enduro.

  • I'm staying down there for the weekend.

  • Anyone need ticket back in to London on Sunday? I have a spare, irritatingly.

What time were people planning on starting the GF on Saturday?

Also can anyone download the GPX track?

  • I'm getting the train down tomorrow morning, dumping bags at a hostel, aiming to fondo (fondue?) around 12, drinking, sleeping, racing and getting the train back Sunday afternoon.

I've managed to download a tcx file from the strava link, so I'd assume gpx should be OK too.

  • Course map for Sunday.

The London League event used to follow a similar course.

  • Or just ride to the top of Ditchling and follow the smell

  • The London League event used to follow a similar course.

Has that race ever been held later in the year? wonder what ground conditions are likely to be. intermediates or muds?

  • I've ridden it in October before, when it was pretty dry. I think @Ramsaye rode it in the wet one year so he might have better information. Intermediates I reckon*. It's chalky downland, drains well and the woods are full of loamy soil.

    * I may not have any choice as my attempts to convert the mud wheels to singlespeed failed as the cassette lock ring won't loosen.

  • I've got a slight recollection of the course but it's getting on for ten years since I last rode there in the wet. Memories of clearing the mud several times a lap spring to mind. The mud in the woods stuck like glue.

  • Goin' intermediates

  • gone for fat intermediates. here's hoping it's not too sticky.

  • Gone for aggressive mud because I'm not together enough to put anything else on in time.

Due to predicted car troubles I'm driving down in a POS hoping to hit the shop around 11 and fondo around 12 but my garmin also broke so I'll just follow whoever.

  • Christ - froze my nuts off on the train down. Air con a bit aggressive to say the least.

Brighton however is lovely and warm :)

  • Good luck everyone - gutted I can't be there to give it a blast (or, more realistically, a plod).

  • That was tough, but great fun. A huge well done to @Jon. the new European Singlespeed Champion! He bossed it.

We'll done to all forumites representing today; @fredtc, @Howard, @Doctor_Cake, @IR and any others I missed (and there are some).

  • Wow, great stuff @Jon.

  • Awesome stuff @Jon. :)

  • Congratulations! @Jon.

  • Well done to @IR on his first ( and hopefully not last ) race :-)

  • Best description of the course I heard, "like an @Incredibly_Cross course on steroids!"

  • @Velocio - Could Jon's SSCXEU victory be marked with a logo colour change, in much the same way as Hippy's 24hr win?

  • Ffs.. it's blue & white...

  • Some photos from the weekend

  • Thanks all. Top result from Andy creeping into the top 10 overall too!

  • What happened to @fredtc? I assumed he was top 5.
