Any suggestions for affordable floor standing lamps?

Bathroom floors.

Victorian house. 3 x 4m 2nd floor bathroom. Currently with grey painted floorboards which I have draft-sealed between with a foam-rubber product and covered over that with grey silicone. Need a permanent toddler bath time proof (fully waterproof) solution though. It also needs to look cool.

Rest of the bathroom is going to be redecorated, with a new shower cubicle but remaining fittings will be a free-standing roll-top bath. Plan to replace the hideous modern toilet, sink and pedestal with bits more in fitting with the rest of house and the bath but can do that later. Floor first.

Not a fan of ceramic tiles and I think engineered wood is out too for practicality reasons. Wanted to try rubber but it's such an expanse of solid matt colour I thought it would look weird and would limit what you can do with the walls.

Cant help feeling patterned vinyl looks a bit cheap. Currently considering these Karndean vinyl parquet tiles. I didn't think i'd like the look or feel of faux wood anything but they do look good close-up. Anyone tried these?

Karndean looks good if laid properly I think. I had it in a kitchen. 3 x 4m is big enough to pull off that 'look'. You may well have to overlay the boards with hardboard, tile backer board or ply...

Rubber flooring looks and feels great, and it lasts well. It's also naturally antiseptic.
You can get tiles if you want to mix colours.

It's better with a throw or a sheepskin in, but yeah, it's nicer to look at than to sit in.

It's one of those pieces that you think will create a nice new reading corner but doesn't really deliver.

Nice. Personally, I've always hankered after a Jasper Morrison Low Pad to replace it with, which would combine the style with the comfort, but £££$$$.

Anyway, will aim to get some snaps up tonight and then leave it on here for a bit.

Ha! That's such typical cat behaviour! We had the Eames in the living room for a bit but then swapped it around for the standard-issue Ikea Ekenesat. Cat was overjoyed.

Positive angle to the RAR though – impossible for cat to sharpen her claws on it/destroy it. Backing to the Ekenesat already in shreds.

You've obviously never had a good sit in a genuine Eames lounge chair...

Ekenaset's are great. We've got two. And no cats.

Looks "idiosyncratic".

I bought an ex-display Balzac armchair many years ago from SCP, and when we moved I bought a new Balzac 3 seater sofa in russet leather, and had my armchair recovered to match, and a new feather cushion. It is the most comfortable thing ever.

I take it back then! Different strokes for different folks I guess. I'd love one but they are so crazy expensive and I'd worry that it would turn out that they don't actually suit me after all.

While I'm here, we're getting rid of a nice 60s or 70s teak dining table and chairs with folding leaves. Probably Danish but I don't have any info on it's background. It's in good condition but not perfect. Put it on eBay BIN at the weekend but I'm inclined to pull it and sell it on here instead.

Pics on the link below - other half has researched and reckons we shouldn't let it go for less than £200 but I'd be happy with that.

This classic chair chat has reminded me I need to move this on. It has a base but that's up in the loft. Known colloquially as the p0rn chair.

Downside is you'd need to collect it from Reading.

I cycled past it the other evening and wondered if anyone knew anything about it?
