No idea mate i'm afraid!

And would you use the helicoil to pull it out or something? Cant say I've ever used/seen one of them before.

No a helicoil is a threaded insert you screw into a knackered thread to repair it. You have to have enough material to insert it into though.

A not uncommon use is to repair pedal threads on knackered cranks
