After feeling terrible at the end of Saturday's run I set out yesterday to do a gentle 5k, aiming to kep the breathing easy and HR under control. I can normally judge this from my breath - 4 steps breathing in and 4 steps breathing out is generally a nice easy pace but I glanced at my watch about halfway round to see my HR at 180! I stopped and walked a little to get it back down then set off again and it was at a "normal" level for the rest of the run. Looked back at my pace over the run and it doesn't vary by much at all over the 5k, yet there is a massive difference in HR. Very odd but I still feel tired/achey today. Am I dying?
