  • Millar looks like the SS officer from a 60's WWII film.

  • He looks like he should be on the bridge of the star destroyer...

  • Star Trek Jersey would flap in wind

  • That's the Rapha peace race jersey, no?

  • Fuck me sideways

  • Well the cap doesn't look too bad ... would maybe wear.

  • Trying too hard.

  • Any recommendations for a long sleeve jersey with a zip pocket on the front that doesn't cost more than my bike's worth?

  • Maybe this one; https://rasowear.com/szczegolyProduktu.php?kat=63&item=187&lan=4&cur=2 ? I have a ss summer jersey from them and it fits really well

/e: maybe 95 euro is too steep?

  • Yeah, still way too much! Thanks though.

  • Fucking hell, how little is your bike 🚲 worth?

  • Not loads. I'm also just not sure that an £80 jersey is going to help me get £50 more enjoyment out of riding my bike than a £30 one.

  • Sorry, should have mentioned, no wool (vegan)! Thanks for the suggestion though.

  • Any one fancy picking up a Mavic jersey from sigma and posting it up to me?

  • Do vegans object to wearing wool too? Sheep are generally quite content to get rid of it...

Rapha Archive sale had some surprisingly cheep long sleeve jerseys. No lanolin too...

  • In short, yes. I'm veggie rather than vegan, but I completely understand the logic of it. I imagine like all ethcal issues individual vegans have their own particular reasons, but this overview gives a few common ones.

  • It's just because it's a product of what I see as a very cruel industry. Even if being sheared doesn't harm the sheep, it's still putting money in the pocket of the people who do. This probably isn't the place for this discussion though, there's a vegan thread if you're interested!

  • ^ shit vegans say

  • Shits vegan say in response to being asked about veganism.

  • Do you think polyester or non wool clothing production in general is less harmful to animals than wool clothing? Zoom out amigo

  • It's about minimising harm, I think. We all have moral 'lines in the sand', vegan ones are just in a different place. I don't get it personally, but after 24 years as a veggie, and 8 as a meat eater, I've recently gone veggie again and don't think I'll go back. I can't claim it's for moral reasons because I eat eggs and dairy, and those industries are despicable, but I'm happy with my stance and base it on not feeling I enjoy meat enough to justify the death of animals. Eggs and cheese on the other hand....
One can always argue with a vegan about why they don't just move to a cave and brush the floor in front of them when they walk, and wear a mask lest they inhale insects, and hey - they probably shouldn't wash, because that kills microbes. It's pointless.
I have plenty of vegan friends, and plenty of meat eating friends. The crucial thing is that none of them preach about their moral position, hence why I'm friends with them.

  • I wasn't argueing if vegitarians or vegans are wrong or right. I am just saying that wool production perhaps isn't worse for animals than other types fabric production. Chemicals and enormous water waste in production of synthetic materials is likely to impact wild life as much as wool production affects sheep.
Also cutting sheep is a necessity. Look at this little fella:

I think there is a lot of worse products out there than a Tørm jersey. I have a T8 and it is great for cycling.
