It will have steel forks 100%.
I'm out

It will be similar to your Oak plus (maybe) lugged construction and a flat top curved blade steel fork :P
-

My Oak has such tight clearances only 23mm tyres will fit. It also has Enve forks and seatpost. It's the spiritual opposite to this.
-
• #457
Sounds very similar just no carbon and slightly wider tyres.

And those silly brake calipers. And lugs etc. My Oak is basically exactly what you want, fast steel road bike with short wheelbase, but then you go and ruin it with stuff you've seen on the Radavist.

You go for the connectorless SON dynamo.
It's the cleanest set up so far.
Just fit some 650b and stop worrying about short wheelbase.

I have prior art so that trademark is mine.

• #462
but I said 'wheelbase' first!

Good info on connectorless dynamo forks

I knew about SON set up I thought SP was similar .. clearly not .. might get it drilled for now and see, defo dont want to spent SON money.
-
• #465
SON are amongst the best, especially the Edelux II.
You are asking for a custom frame after all, just don't ask how much the paint will be!
-
• #466
Its custom because of geometry and nothing else. Brakes happen to be braze ons. Dynamo most likely not happening. Or I will just get drillings done for SP.
I'd rather have more bikes than one expensive one because I can.
Paint will be simple plain white.

Your use of this thread to torment scoble and all he holds dear is appreciated by some of us.

To misquote Alexander Pope: To err is human, but to not add a Sick Fade is a mistake
-
• #469
funny you say that .. all my bikeCADs have sick fade .. will post tonight.

Btw I also think it's totally unnecessary to ask Winston to install S&S couplings, I know you're thinking of taking this to the Etape and everything but honestly?
-
• #471
That's right!
-
• #472
Definitely get S&S. So useful.
-
• #473
considering .. do you have to buy them direct?
-
• #474
Etap is a must for this build! Maybe an aerospok rear wheel too, no need to ever true it!

• #475
Etape not Etap but yeah #Pengy2017
