My country of birth, I'm interested to see them on the list, the Tamil's might not agree.

that list is measuring the safety of tourists and businesses so not particularly reliable.
Global peace index puts UK 47th overall. 26th in EU above Cyprus and Greece.
Sri Lanka is 97th.
