  • Yeah, I mean, what's a few hundred thousand dead people when we got dat sweet PFi. Have a word.

  • I knew you'd bite on that. Iraq was wrong yes - and that's not news. But the left's hatred for Blair and the narrative of his whole premiership as a failure (which is totally untrue) is one of things that opened the door for David Cameron. That's part of what I mean by the bigger picture.

Peace in Northern Ireland, every A&E modernised, a minimum wage, devolution, huge steps towards equality, progressive welfare policies, significant investment in education, Sure Start, etc. etc. etc. Blair changed the very landscape of Britain and I would say largely for the better. Characterise it as sweet PPI and you're doing the Tories work for them.

More importantly he made Labour electable - how's Corbyn doing with that?

  • Legacy tho .. you do 100 things right and 1 wrong and are remembered for that one wrong'un

    I am with you.

  • Yet the gap between rich and poor grew significantly under Blair, he placed Labour to the right of the Libdems on pretty much every policy and took Labour voters' votes for granted by sticking two fingers up and saying "who the fuck else you gonna vote for, suckers?" - all while lining his pockets...

  • Didn't he do some shit in the Balkans and Rwanda too?

  • Agree with what you are saying, however, Blair will only ever be remembered for Iraq and as such he would be more effective for the Remain camp if he started batting for Leave.

Freedom of Information Act, European Human Rights Act, independence of the Bank of England to set base rates free from political interference etc. etc.
