  • My old plug was 67 GI I believe, that's probably about right, maybe 17t cog.
I've just had the arthritis cut off my knees, bones reshaped & microfractures so Spinny's definitely better for my knees hahaha.
I'm going to use a chainring off the tripple but the cogs SS specific, hopefully needing minimal tensioning as I don't want bar-face/balls interface when it slips

  • Waiting on a black headset to come through and then it should be on the road pretty quick.

  • Any Rossin experts here I can contact?

  • I'm far from an expert but I used to have one...

  • That bike looks awesome! Gravelkings on a track bike ;)

Would go with a turquoise (CK) headset though

  • In theory the GKs (23c) are placeholders for something else, but the only other spare tyres I have are.. more GKs (26c)!

With this I asked for space for some larger tyres (all year road use), so will probably start with the latter GKs unless I stumble on something else reasonably priced around the same size. There's definitely ample space.

  • the second one is the one i meant for magic gears. chances that itll work with the chainstay length are slim ofcourse.. gl!

  • It looks really close that 39 x 17 will do the job, I'm getting 44.2 cs length.
I'm not after perfect, just minimal tensioning as I've had it slip before.

Looks like I'll be ripping it to bits later.

  • Thats lovely.

  • Built this from spare parts to try the size. Cant decide to make it single speed or 1x9. Any suggestions?

  • Cool, we've also talked about Merckx bikes before, I'll pm you later :-)

  • 1x9 as magic gear is a pain. I have mine 1x7 which is crazy cheap.

  • @jaap they are awesome road tyres I think they have narrowed their scope with the name.

  • I have tidied up this extremely low mileage 1990 MBK Super Record.

It had only done 200km in 1990 before having its front wheel nicked. Then hung up in a garage in Soissons until December 2016, when I picked it up and brought it back to London.

Columbus tubing - most likely Aelle otherwise it would say if better.
Fluoro paintwork, this was an affordable replica of the TdF bikes that year.
Full Shimano 105 groupset 1055 / 105SC 2x7speeds with the original hyperglide cassette.
The front wheel is the best visual match I could find - Exage hub.

I just switched the brake cables around , replaced chain, bar tape and tyres.

    I believe @veLLo has a track version.

I was after the "Pro" version which was made out of Columbus SLX in this colour and kitted out with Campagnolo Record, but the photos of the ad were appalling so I went out of my way to pick it up.

    Still a beaut'

  • I know, this is my bike:

Still wouldn't use them in a velodrome

  • Good job nobody mentioned velodrome then.

  • yeah.. and I never said there is anything wrong with GK's on a track bike:

Are we gonna continue this discussion?

  • What rims are they? Are they a kind of gun metal colour or is it the picture?

  • What is it?

1x would be my choice. Single speed with a tensioner is never great

  • Thanks

Rainy day, lazy vibes. Locked indoors and toying around with different stem/bars & saddle.

Edited 'cause baby doesn't like being put in the corner or something like that...
