Sure! It's probably 132,5mm, this size is used so you can use 135mtb and 130road hubs.

Frame is custom and I asked for 135. Its a disc frame so how could I ever use road hubs? Its also definitely 133 according to my verniers. If stretching by hand is fine i'll just do that, for some reason I thought you had to do a trick with string to keep it aligned, although it is only 1mm each side

That's to check alignment as you set the stays, otherwise you could end up with the wheel to one side: check Sheldon on cold setting.

Help needed choosing a groupset that goes with a bike (I know, it's a luxury problem I'm having)...

Tomorrow I'm picking up this 1996 frame. Ideally I would put a Campa 11 speed Chorus on it but that's beyond the remaining budget. So I have to choose from 4 groupsets I already have: a new Ultegra 6800, a Campa Chorus/Record 10 speed (carbon ergopowers), a Sram Force (10 speed) or an era correct 9 speed Record Titanium.

What would look best on this white frameset? As I do ride my bikes, I'm thinking of one of the more modern groupsets. But can one put a Shimmy on an Italian classsic?

Bought a Look 585 some time ago and started to source parts and build it up. Decided on a BB30 Chainset (bsa frame). Ended up with a bsa bb386 evo bottom bracket. Did not want to buy a tool for the install, so decided to Make one in CAD and 3Dprint it. Great sucsess!

I'd go for the 10 speed campag because they all work but this will look the best.

Thanks for the opinions, I'll try both and take some pics. Maybe the RS81 wheels won't really match when taking the 6800.

Think I will go for campa. Just saw in sellers mail I get a 135 bcd chainring for free. Problem solved. 😀

Picked up a second hand knock-off of the yak, Edinburgh Bike Coop were selling them a few years ago apparently. A bit of research suggests they're pretty good and has the added bonus of folding entirely flat.

Nice, I had looked at those but got mine for less than one of those.

I recently bought a pair of nos mexico 68 rims laced on what was described in the ad as titanium record hubs.

After seeing the pictures, I thought they were 9 speed so I didn't bother to ask the seller but when I got them I found out that they had the damn super rare 8 speed record titanium hubs, which has a unique freehub body.

I've read on bradford bike that it was possible to fit some 9 speed cogs after notching them a bit. Has anyone tried that before? Does it seem like a good idea or should I try to replace the freehub? Anybody knows a compatible one?

I know it's a lot of questions, and of course I could buy a campy titanium cassette but the cheapest I found on ebay is 150 euros, which is three times the price I paid for the wheels...

Notching the cassette is the easy part: it doesn't need to be particularly accurate.

The hard part is finding the spacer kit.
