Yeah, it's a biggun. I'm hoping to get the cash before they sell out. Only 50 made. The quality of work on the movement is top notch for a watch that costs a grand.
I think part of the appeal to me is that is the first movement I learned to disaasemble and reassemble.
Have a read about it on the tinefactors site. A lot of thought went into it.

My DJ. I've put it on an oyster bracelet. Think it's a great all-round, every day watch.

I also have quite a rare and unusual Omega quartz de ville watch. It doesn't have a crown - merely a tiny recessed button which is used to progress the time. I had it serviced and the strap replaced when I acquired it (cost £180 total), but the battery has since worn out. I have taken it into Omega in Westfield Stratford and they wanted £70 to replace the battery, which would take "a couple of weeks".
This is clearly ridiculous. As the watch carries significant sentimental value, can anyone recommend somewhere very trusted that can replace the battery while I wait for a reasonable price?

Picture of the back?
Shouldn't matter about the button vs crown, the battery will still be the same as any other quartz and the back will just require either a caseback knife or a notch tool depending on which type it is.
I could change it in minutes.

I don't have a picture at the moment, but it will be opened with caseback knife, rather than a notch tool. I'm just concerned about fumbling it and causing some damage, but I suppose on balance I'd rather trust myself than someone else who's just going to treat it as just another watch.
Can you recommend somewhere to buy decent tools/supplies from? Most on eBay/Amazon look like junk.

I have one of these which may well be similar (hours are set by the crown, minutes are set by a button in the crown) and it was easy to do myself.

I'm trying to get a black bezel with gold numbers for my SKX, but am struggling to find one.
Also after a two tone jubilee strap for SKX, can find 20mm but I think SKX are 22mm, or is it normal to be slightly smaller on bracelets? Any ideas? -

SKx013 uses 20mm and SKX007 uses 22mm bands..WHat SKX have you got?

I has a SKX009 (pepsi dial version of the 007) I'm fairly sure my NATO's are 22mm

Where would one take this to get it serviced/repaired? I've had it for over ten years, but dropped it and it's since stopped working. The bezel has also seized. It's probably not worth it...

Alsalls...

Alsals are great, very friendly and easy to work with but a repair is £150 so thats worth considering

Pretty sure it's a standard size.

What do you mean a repair is £150? I have never spent over £30 for a repair there. They tend to charge for what needs to be one...has that changed?

It was a general service on that Casio I posted a few months back, are you talking about alsal in strand?

I'm gonna pass on the Tudor I bought off @rodabod, it's too small for my manly wrists... Gonna be in London next month, let me know if you're interested and I'll bring it with me... Just wanna get my £500 back...
It's 32mm, if it were 2mm bigger I'd keep it! Gutted... A beauty...
