They're a really nice shape and the loop is actually useable to get out of the wind - much more comfortable/usable than I expected - not like I'm setting any PBs but definitely handy.
I'm running the ergon GS1 that are aimed at MTBers, they're a slightly different shape to the usual ergons (can't remember code) but the shape works well with the sweep.

Looks good, still enjoying that rapidfire shifter?
Looks like you're getting a bit more space between bars and rack than I am. Maybe I should flip my stem.
-
• #14406
^^ something a little off-putting about that
-
• #14407
Thats really anti to me
-
• #14408
Yeah the rapidfire has completely transformed the bike, it was really pissing me off before when it was slipping all over.
Rack to bar is approx 6 pizza boxes

Pizzastack is the new scoblebrick

Omg it works.
Stem cap pressing up against the steerer, couple of washers and some locktite and there you have it! Quite pleased!

I'd like to upgrade the frame on my Straggler later this year, the bike is great but a little long in the TT.
Which OTP framesets are out there? with intentions of a Randonneur build with Cross tyres put on every other weekend. Preferably 650b.
I know of the Straggler and the Wolverine. Are there other options? must be all steel

The Velo Orange ones look nice. Velo Vitality in Brighton should be able to get hold of one for you...

there you have it!
Result! Well done.

Seen this really cool Peugeot and it turns out I have a similar Peugeot donor bike in the garage.
What would the most cost effective 1x system and wheels?

SRAM Apex1, which is 1x11
€20,- for the shifter
€55,- for the derailleurand you can just pick any 11 speed cassette, chain and chainring
-
• #14420
- Take two chainring off from the cranks.
- Remove front derailleur
- Remove left hand shifter and cables
- Enjoy!
But if you must buy stuff and fine using trigger shifter, Shimano zee is very good for value.
- Take two chainring off from the cranks.

Haha, well, the bike is 30 years old and the parts are all original. Very heavy, grubby and need overhauled.
Will be removing everything from the frame and starting a fresh.
-
• #14422
Good work and nice biek. Is it fixed?
-
• #14423
Probably worth checking that the rear spacing is 135mm and it's a casette rather than a freewheel at that age.
-
• #14424
It's definitely a freewheel, 5 speed i think. But will be changing the wheels out. Will measure the spacing to make sure. It's steel though, should be ok?

Good project. I'd put V brakes on too.
That was lost on me sorry.
As you were. And thanks for that anyway (tenner thing). Propa gent
