+1 on the wearables - I've got a Garmin Vivosmart GPS watch with the HR monitor, it cost me
less than £100 (the last one in the shop in Currys had been opened so I got a decent discount off the already low Jan sale price) and I'm very impressed with the hardware. It's great for tracking running and cycling, my only gripe is it takes a while to get a GPS lock sometimes.
Also the health tracking stuff is sort of interesting (until you get bored of it)
