• Ahh, that looks great!

I've gone and bough the rear light with the seat post mount so I will have to find a suitable adapter - has anyone seen one?

  • Just use a small strut

  • That bottom one looks perfect.

It also answers my question as to if I can mount the Tail Light upside down.

  • In other news all the bits are here to build the bike minus the wheels (which are on order), rotors and cable stops for the down tube.

I've also just sent off the template for a custom Wildcat frame bag.

  • how much is the bag setting you back?

  • Can't remember as I ordered a few other bits at the same time.

    Wildcat Gear website is HERE.

The items I already own from there are top notch so I can't recommend them enough.

  • Frame bag is on it's way, should be here tomorrow.

All the parts for the wheel build have arrived at the wheel builders so they shouldn't be long either.

Still umming and ahhing over where to mount the dynamo lights.

Any reason not to mount a dynamo light quite high up. I'd be running this exact set up:

  • I believe its harder to see directly in front of you if you put it there.

  • Hmm, interesting.

Well, I've ordered the Ritchey adapter so I guess it's one option to try out.

When I get the bike built I'm not going to have the lights installed. I want to ride for a while with all the different luggage set ups and see what will work best with regards to light placement.

  • Have a go on my crosscheck for a taster of what a crown-mounted light is like

  • How long is your seat post ;)

Seriously though, your Crosscheck is the reason I went for a dynamo. Hopefully the stem mount works well, if not a Paul light mount somewhere on the fork may be the next best option.

  • Wildcat <3

  • Nice eamesy! Any reason for no fork crown mount? Apologies if I've missed something.

  • Thanks!

I don't think there's going to be enough room when running a bar bag. Maybe there will though, we'll see!

  • Supernovas are designed to also be bar mounted. They even sell the bar mount.

  • Looks a bit crap up there though I reckon. I've had trouble with crown mount and bar bag so your concern is valid. It was still usable, but a fair bit of the beam was blocked and the bag was resting on the light (luxos). Your frame is bigger than mine by a fair bit though (54 crosscheck).

  • Genuine question: would you honestly not be slightly tearing up if you crashed this?

Perhaps not dear mother is with the angels upset but maybe a favourite uncle kind of cry?

Or even a well loved pet?

    No?

  • Why buy the Paul when you could just make one out of a piece of steerer with a starnut in it?

  • Comment invalid. Reason? See thread.

  • Yeah I guess I could but I don't have a spare star nut or piece of steerer ;)

  • Yeah I would but not as much as when I crashed my brand new Shand. The damage I did to the Shand cost half as much as the bike cost to build so I guess it's all relative.

Plus, I won't be too delicate about ragging 105 and no expensive carbon around fields and gravel tracks. I can strap bags to this and not worry about paint as well.

  • PM some details if you want, I can make and send you one.
