  • We are perfect for each other, indeed. Everytime I go away and come back, she gets more clingy... I might have said this on here before, but I had to go away for a long time due to family emergency, it turned out to be 4 months, upon my return, I fully expected the cat would have forgotten about me etc, as she'd only been with me less than a year. To my surprise, she ran towards me like a dog would, that was still one of the best moments we share.

Then I had to leave her at the vet for a mere 4 hours last summer for a small op, when I went to pick her up, she was rubbing left, right and centre in her box trying to get out to rub me, like she hadn't seen me in years...

She needs me, or I would like to think she does.

Oh, did I mention, whenever I am ill in bed, like with a really bad cold or sth, I can be ret assured that I will be brought the freshest and fattest road killed mice to my bedside. Every. Single. Time. She does look after me well, just not in a way that a normal sane human being would appreciate.

  • This is my cat

  • So sorry to read this. (((Hugs)))

  • Lula was in the bad books last night after attacking me in my sleep. Today I dug out the pet remedy spray which I used on her blanket & she looks more relaxed already. Think I'm going to have to stock up on the stuff to help her settle in & relax.

  • Glad to hear these products work: we got Fleur a feliway plug yesterday as she's still a bit twitchy over noises and movement in the flat. Apparently they take a few days to make a difference but she's already seemed more mellow this afternoon.

  • I've got a feliway diffuser too but the pet remedy spray was an immediate hit! Can absolutely recommended it, especially as you can spray in it certain areas like their beds. I could do with a human version to help me destress & calm too.

  • I could do with a human version to help me destress & calm too.
Red wine in a spray bottle? Green smoothie with weed?

In all seriousness thanks for the tip, will get a spray too if needs be, but tbh Fleur has only been living with us a couple of months after kittens/neuter/rehome all in a relatively short time frame so hardly surprising she's still prone to twitchiness.

  • So today is Chinese New Year and it is the year of chicken (I know it's called sth else, whatever), it a type of meat that cats love! Has anyone ever wondered why cats are not 1 of the 12 animals? Here is a story I was told when I was a child that happens to explain why cats are so determined to kill all mice / rats in the world:

Once upon a time, Cat and Mouse were best of friends, they would sleep / eat / do everything together. One day, they found out the Chinese God was going to recruit 12 animals to represent each of the 12 years in the Chinese years cycle and the recruitment process would be on a 1st come 1st served basis on 1 particular morning.

So the night before, Cat and Mouse said to each other that they would get up super early in the morning and go queue up to be the 12 animals. They'd promised each other that they would wake up the other one and go together, that's what best friends do, right?

Mouse woke up really early in the morning, seeing Cat was still deep asleep in front of him. Mouse had no intention of waking his best buddy up, he'd left Cat behind to go beat the queue.

Mouse got there 1st, then there was Ox followed by Tiger, Rabbit etc etc... Cat woke up, realised Mouse had long gone, he ran as fast as he could, but he'd only make it to the 13th spot... which means Cat is not to be included in the 12 animals...

This is why cats hate mice so much, so I was told...

  • Chip flap installed; cat freaked out by the new clear door instead of the fogged up yellow Staywell door it's replaced. She's made it out now to see if she needs encouragement to come back in.

  • Does anyone need a giant cat carrier? We bought it when we collected Fleur as was a long drive home but now surplus to requirements. Big enough for two easily or a small dog.
    Will post a pic later
Yours for a token donation to the cat charity of your choice.

Bump before I put it on freecycle?
It's huge, big enough to make into a den if that's what your cat is into or taking a whole litter of kittens to the vet in comfort and style.

  • Has anyone used a cat GPS tracker? Successful?

  • That's a cracking looking cat. Looks like a cappuccino.

  • I think @clefty has used one in the past, but her Wolfie is great at losing collars, so it didn't last long.

  • I haven't yet but I'm going to try Pawtrax when I start letting Sam out. Have you seen any others?

  • Have used the original Pawtrack.com, whilst the concept was good - the collar was massive and the battery life was a bit flaky - the wolf lost his twice. The first time they managed to turn on a beeper and we located it, the second time it went forever as the battery was too low (30%) for it to work - they offered a discounted replacement, but I couldn't risk him losing it again. The support from the guys behind it was second to none though, and I know they've listened to their users and made improvements. It's now however way too pricey for me to consider. I originally paid around £80. It's now more than double that.

  • Thanks for the info @clefty but where are you getting the price from? I thought it was still about £95. http://www.pawtrax.co.uk/news-section-2/buy#!/CATS/c/11037454/offset=0&sort=normal

  • Pawtrack.com and pawtrax are different vendors. I went with the former.

  • Thanks. I hadn't realised.

  • What we need is poortrack.com

  • Belly floof
