looking to get a new frame, and the last bike fit I got was about ten years ago, wondering whether I should get another new from scratch cyclefit, or if they can use my previous bike fit as a starting point and work from there, since the bikes I ride based on it, are still fine for what I'm doing.
@scherrit is that possible or is it new or nothing? -

If you're happy with your current bikefit, can't you just transfer the frame measurements?

thats what I was thinking, but you think about dropping big money on a new custom frame, and you start to wonder about the validity of your current bikefit, seeing as it was a long time ago..

Yeah, that does make sense.

Where are you getting it from? Don't most places include this service as part of the bike cost anyway?

not a bricks and mortar shop..

I recently had a basic 'new bike' sizing check at Cycle Fit. I have also previously had a full fit at Cycle Fit, but that was 6 or 7 years ago. My new sizing is pretty similar to my old one, with the main differences being that my (slightly) reduced flexibility has shifted things like saddle setback, reach, and drop by small amounts. Both old and new sizings would still fall within the 'fit window' (as Phil Burt would say) of the same frame size. But I'm glad I checked as it has reassured me that I'll be getting the right size. Given the amount you'll spend on a new bike, a little extra on an updated fit is unlikely to be a bad investment, even if it gives you a similar answer to previously.

The final chapter from my Cyclefit experience. Not having the funds to pay for a bespoke frame Jimmy at Cyclefit recommended a COTIC Escapade 2015 frame in small. I found one at the back of COTIC's warehouse - well Cy did - and I've taken delivery. In single speed setup. This morning I had it checked and tweaked by Jimmy at Cyclefit again and we replaced the stem with shorter and the seat post with a straight rather than laid back item. I climbed on board and it did feel - well - it felt like a glove - not an old one - I suspect that will come with the miles - but everything was at hand. I sat on it and the bars were exactly in the right place. My head is up. Chest up. Pelvis tilted forward slightly. Arms relaxed. I cant wait to experience the effect long term but...for now...huge thanks to the guys at Cyclefit in London who earned their fee and really made me welcome. Special thanks to Jimmy for being patient and listening to me blether on. Worth every penny.
