@cornelius_blackfoot just go back to Chez Bruce! I was there for lunch a week ago, it's still awesome. The cheese alone is worth it.
Isn't there a place in clapham that gets similar reviews? I can't remember the name but it's up toward Abbeville Road, just opposite the common I think.

@cornelius_blackfoot The Manor in Clapham? https://www.themanorclapham.co.uk/
-
• #533
Have been to the manor, about a year or so ago, wasn't that enamoured at the time, hazy memory brings up a dislike of the smallness of the portion size and the ingredients being just a bit fancy for fancy's sake...

Has anyone been to http://www.clubgascon.com/ recently? I went nearly ten years ago and it is still probably the best dining experience I've had in London.

Any dish recommendations at Canto Corvino?
-
• #536
Just found out they've closed, (sadface) they've got this place round the corner which is still going though

@cornelius_blackfoot same group but the Glasshouse in Kew and La Trompette (Chiswick so West) are both excellent. Ate at the Glasshouse a year or two ago and it was sensational.

Has anyone been to Lyles? How good?
-

I'm guessing @Tenderloin has been.

Really, Really good
You should just go and book it now and then we can talk about how nice it is afterwards :)
-
• #543
I'll take this as a compliment ;)

Taken as intended.

Going to go for lunch soon.

Anglo is also very good and similar style/price/location - if you need a specific date and Lyle's can't oblige
-
• #547
I booked a table for Anglo a couple of weeks ago, the first they had available was early March (and that was a Monday). For weekends it was late March!

woah - well it is good, you'll enjoy it!

Had lunch at Smoking Goat on Denmark st the other day. Delicious Thai food, but from rural regions of Thailand apparently. Not like anything I've eaten before but totally yummy. Very spicy, very meaty, very good.
Recommend.

Every time I go past it on the bus I think I should give it a go.
Also http://www.kanada-ya.com just around the corner. Always has a queue outside it.
I had dim sum at Hakkasan yesterday courtesy of my partner's dad. Wow.
The set Sunday menu isn't cheap, but it's excellent value considering the two cocktails, champagne, and five courses you get.
Probably the best vegetarian Chinese/fusion stuff I've eaten. And the night before we went to My Neighbours The Dumplings (probably as Japanese as it is Chinese) which had raised the bar pretty high. Good weekend's eating all in all.
