  • In july I will compete in an 24h roadrace. Looking for a light-setup for this.
Sun will set around 10pm and rise at 5am. So I will need nine hours of full power to see and maybe 2-3 more hours runtime on low output to be seen.

    • Dynamo is not an option, as I want this light also to be used on other rides with 3-4 different bikes.
    • Budget: around 150 Euros for the main light and maybe another 50 Euros for a helm mounted smaller one.

Might be best of with something with changeable battery(packs).
Thought about a Moon Meteor Storm or a BUMM IXON IQ Premium.

    Any Ideas?

  • On what sort of roads? Open or a repeated circuit? How much ambient light?

I use and recommend Exposure lights but they might be a bit out of your price range unless you find a used one or make do with a smaller unit.

There are tonnes of options in the cheaper price brackets and other peeps on this thread probably have a better idea about them than me. I also sometimes use a Hope Vision 1 which is nice as it uses AA batteries, say if I'm not near a recharge source or if I don't want a massive front light like my Six Pack.

  • repeated circuit of 28km on tarmac in rural area with no ambient lightning except in the villages.
If I have to rise my budget to get something decent I might be ok with that.
