Good luck in that race.
FYI take some electolyte pills and or buy electrolyte drink if you're sweating a lot.

And I'd get a frame bag. Keeps stuff accessible on the go.

Yes, accessibility on the go is worth a lot.
Frame bag + bladder would be better from that PoV, and I might be able to get more than 2 litres of water in the frame + have a bit of space left over for other stuff.
What are the best frame bags?
