  • Photoshopping is cheaper than real shopping...
The thought of new wheels for this makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

China carbonz? I fitted some tubeless to a set of hunt wheels the other week. Really well made stuff.

  • I haven't decided which wheels to go for yet. My club mate's sister runs Stayer with her man. So might throw my money at them. I am probably looking at £550 for 50/60mm rims + novatec.
Alternatively finding some used rims or import myself. Dunno yet.

  • I don't personally think it's worth it.

What I think is worthwhile is getting a decent tubeless wheelset to run those tyres tubeless, I feel that make a bigger difference.

  • This is not about logic.
I am racing this bike and I just want carbon wheels to make it feel and look fast.
Maybe even tubeless as well. We will see

  • I have enjoyed low pressure racing - but it sure doesnt feel fast (except in corners).

  • I ran 80/90psi in the first/only race I won last year. A crit at velopark. It had been raining and everybody was feeling sketchy in the corners. My Open Paves 27c at that pressure gave enormous confidence boost. I didn't spend any energy chasing back on during the race like I would normally do, because of my high center of gravity and fat ass. When we came to the finish line I had loads of energy left for the sprint.
Anyways I'd like a pair of carbon tubeless clincher wheels...

  • I haven't gotten around to taking photos of this new setup.
Hope hubs on Stayer carbon rims and a new 130mm 3T stem.

  • Noice noice

  • Rad, but we need an angle with some more purple

  • I will bring out my camera one day then.

  • No gumwalls? Saying that, outside Turbo Cottons I'm struggling to find a decent 25-27mm option other than Corsa G+.

  • I had gumwalls before. I just fancied trying something else. I bought the Pro Ones as they are tubeless and the rims are tubeless, but I am actually running inner tubes atm.
I do like gumwalls a lot but on these 55mm rims I think all black tyres adds to the overall Batman look. IMO it goes well with beefy stem etc.

  • That's lush man. Echoes of Stelbel. Really like it!

  • Rando mode

  • What are you doing about the routing?

  • I will shorten the cable a little bit and tape it nicely to the inside of the fork leg. I won't use rear light until my new rando bike is done. I will make sure I do a proper routing job on that one.
