Do you want a separate not-slave-enough-for-hhsb tarck bikes thread? I'd rather see them all here. The Raleigh is raddd

I think its wise to broaden one's horizons...bit of porn thread, bit of CP, CX, etc hunting gems, rather than lurking in the same place waiting for everything to fall into your lap. The concept of 'not being slave enough' is obvs completely subjective, but implies that something is at least a bit slave to kick off with. The raleigh isn't slave at all. And its not rad. It is however a sympathetically built lovely bike. Maybe (at a push) in porn...which is also where the Tomassini and De Rosa belong. With the 10th anniversary looming we owe Tynan (and TM) the respect of maintaining standards around here.

Spot on mate! This is The US colour way right?

Couldn't tell ya, honestly. It was repainted by Joe Bell before it made its way to me. I like it better than the one with the yellow though, so no complaints.

Boat anchor cranks are an odd choice

Saw it on pedalroom. Think they made a carbon spider for them, couldve ended up being lighter than 75DDs
-
• #52116
Still not really 'light' though
-
• #52117
boat anchor cranks? those are the lightest track cranks I know of...
678 gram for a Rotor 3D Track, 830 gram for a Sram Omnium and 700 gram for a Sugino 75 DD -

If you're going light (and with a Berk seatpost combo that's clearly the intention) I wouldn't use track cranks.
-
• #52119
I wouldn't go with a novatec hub either.. When I look at this bike the Berg seatpost combo seems like the think that's out of place
-

Seems like he 'upgraded' the cranks:
The carbon spider isn't complete yet, the picture is not the final product.
Hubs are American Classic Track and Corima Carbon by the way. Currently 5.1kg.
Also, HHSB isn't about what's logical right? On the contrary I would say. Though the build does seem like a weight weenie exercise.

FFS. Lovely post for the CP thread but zero HHSB credentials (yes, I see the flite and the comment still stands). Can only blame Vaast for encouraging this kind of behaviour who is clearly confused by the HHSB venn diagram.
