It's classic Putin testing the boundaries. Now that his opponent (Trump) is in post, he's escalating the conflict to see how Trump responds. He wants to see if the orange fuhrer is all talk.
Obviously I'm not a fan of Putin, but you have to hand it to him - he's a master tactician and I suspect much much more intelligent than Trump.
We'll see I suppose. Let's hope we don't all die. Putin will push right up to the line, but knows how not to cross it. I don't think Trump has the same ability.
