  • Got dicked around by Acycles for too long and now it turns out they can't get a Road Logic in 49cm. It's all terribly annoying.

In the meantime I've gotten all the finishing kit, wheels (h+son/hope) and a group. Trying to decide if I should sell it off or get a similar frame.

Looking for something light. Not carbon. Racy but not too racy. Something that's comfy and I can spend all day in. Something zippy. Recommendations?

Thinking about Condor Acciaio but it's a bit more than the £700 I was going to spend on the Ritchey.

    Any other recs?

    Update: Ritchey frame in post.

  • I have also always like this frame, in this colorway but it's from 2012...

  • I have that Cinelli and its excellent. Would recommend.

  • Nearest i can think of would be fairlight .
I love my 49 logic . Its just so comfy but you dont want to here that.

  • They are 900 arnt they? Caad 10 would fit the bill.. You could pick one up and get a re-spray for the price of a Ritchey/condor

  • Try this guy

Simon Beatson – sbeatson@ritcheylogic.com – for the UK and Ireland

    Europe sales manager.

  • Tempted to email Cinelli and see if they have one sitting in a warehouse somewhere.

  • Cheers! It looks like we have the same taste in bikes :)

Acycles said something about how Ritchey couldn't give them a lead time. Wondering if they are rolling out a new Road Logic or something.

  • Worth a punt. I'D give you mine - but I think it's going to be too big. 54cm effective top tube. PM me if interested.

  • Cheers, I need something more in the 52cm top tube range.

    These look nice too.

  • Or maybe it's time I go custom - Hartley.

  • How much are resprays?

  • Can recommend my experience so far with Hartley.

    Depends. Cheapest £60-90 at armortex.

  • Wasn't going to suggest CAAD because its Alu, but if you're thinking beyond steel, the CAADs are great, and can usually be found pretty cheap

  • for £700ish you could get yourself a mighty good custom frame from Rychtarski/Orlowski in a very nice tubeset...

  • heard that it's a bit hit or miss?

  • Yeah I have serious feminist envy/girl crush on Hartley. But it would put too much of a dent in my pocket right now.

  • Genesis Volare?

There's an Xs on sale here:
    http://www.londonbicycleworkshop.com/95150/products/genesis-volare-853-phantom-black-2016-frameset.aspx

    But that's a 51 not 49, not sure how that suits size-wise

    Kinesis Aethin?

  • from what I've seen it really depends on how clear your instructions/specs are and the communication you've had before ordering. @psee has purchased two of the forum's finest bikes from him but I'd put that as much down to his attention to detail as the builder's.

  • Rychtarski no longer. Orlowski yes, I believe - the experience is meant to be a lot better. My experience with Rychtarski was like... 4/10. Ritchey are under a lot of demand now, Paligap can't get them either.

Bowman seems like a good shout for something a bit more niche but still really solid. Condor is overpriced and recently have provided some terrrrrible service to some people I know.

  • Volare

  • TIG welded Rourke?

  • Yeah I tried out the supersix evo and it's lovely. Could go carbon and respray. Though again hard to find it in a 48cm.

  • I've got a reynolds 725 volare frame for sale with a 53cm toptube - can do you a good price

otherwise might be able to do you a good deal on last years 853 version in the smaller size - Send me a PM if interested
