New wheels and bars

Nice. Those bars look great, too. What are they like to ride with?
-
• #7379
Haven't ridden with yet, will do a test next weekend and then maybe back to squish and flats

Thanks for the quick answers.
Likely will go with a Fox Step cast or an Enve MTN....depending on if I can justify buying more bike parts and where I see this bike going in the future. TDR potentially!
The whole thing will likely get a frameskin treatment before I start strapping any bags to it.
Edit: is there any alternative to the KP205?

Deserves a better pic but then it should proceed directly to HHSRB.

Maybe - ultimately KP205 is just a regular 1.5" bearing and an adapter that steps down from a regular 1.5" to 1 1/8th bearing, and a 1 1/8th bearing.
The headtube takes 1.5" ID - or 1.56" - bearings pressed directly in to both top and bottom.

Are you a giant? That's got to be 63cm or maybe bigger.

It has tiny wheels though

I'm 6ft 5 so it would fit. 60x60 apparently

Now I'm really confused. I bought a Thomson 30.9 for the system six. When I bought it, the seller said it took a 30.9.
Online officially all I can find is that they take 27.2 or 31.6 but I've got a couple of 31.6 posts and they're definitely too big.
The Thomson is too small though. Clamped up it just about stays in place but you can feel the bottom of the post hitting the inside of the tube side to side if you wiggle it.
What size does this frame take?! -
• #7392
Defintely too big?
What SystemSix did you get and what year is it?

Here's another place I saw 30.9 mentioned. I just gotta get some calipers I guess but I'm sure it can't be a weird in between size. It's a mass produced frame
-
• #7394
Yeah you can rock it back and forth and hear the post hitting the inside of the tube. I don't know how to tell what year it is
-
• #7395
What frame is it? where is the photo?
-
• #7396
The only thing I can think of is that it's 31.6 but the tube has been over tightened

Early versions were 31.6
Later versions...no idea. If yours isn't BB30, all bets are off.

Haha and there's me thinking a popular American frame would be straight forward. It's bb30
I'm now fairly confident it's been over tightened. Considering the previous owner tried to sell a 30.9mm post with it
Really nice. Also think black bar tape would look great :)
