• Because you can link a credit card to paypal and say get £700 worth of points for the purchase. Might be useful for frequent flyer types.

  • Got the shipping notice for my NG at last. Should be here weds.

  • Ok, I thought you wanted to have buyer protection or something.

  • Beginning March 1, 2017, WKO+ 3.0 will no longer sync workouts to or from TrainingPeaks. You will still be able to use WKO+ 3.0 locally on any computer it is currently installed on, however, new installations or license activations will not be supported and technical support will no longer be provided by our Customer Success Team.

  • If you've already been riding around on a type s then don't expect much different.

  • "new installations or license activations will not be supported"

I'm going to be a bit fucked off if software I paid for can't be installed on a new machine after March.

  • Doesn't that just mean support as in "if it breaks / doesn't play nice with your OS we won't/can't help you", not that it won't install

  • Welcome to WKO4

  • It has to be activated if you move to another PC. If they don't support that, then how can it be installed on a new PC?

So, I'm either forced to upgrade to WKO4 or I will find a crack for WKO3 since I fucking paid for it, I expect to be able to use it.

  • I thought WKO4 was a pile of shit? Have they fixed it? Does it do everything WKO3 does without being a bag of dicks? I don't want to have my shit online, does it support offline use like WKO3?

  • I'm running 4 happily. It did have some teathing issues, but all seem to have been ironed out now.

I've never used 3, so cannot comment re bag of dicks. Offline, yes.

  • I think they just mean there wont be a support team to answer any questions. I assume the activation is automatic

  • $150 upgrade.. fucksake

Does it still have the same PMC charts that track CTL etc? I don't care about all that pedaling dynamics shit and all the other bullshit they're flogging.

  • Well, that's not what they've written. I read it as "tough shit, you have to upgrade if you get a new PC".

  • Yep, full PMC. Can customise everything to how you want it.

    Free trial?

  • I'll be happy if it's the same. I went for the type S / NG prologue deal as an "affordable" way of getting two powermeters. No complaints with my type S.

  • Yeah it was a cracking deal. I got one on the prologue too, with a type s I have bought a month earlier than the deal went live. Was good of them to let me have it.

It does feel like the power numbers jump around a little less, perhaps indiciative of the superior 1% accuracy vs the type s's 2%. And it was quite novel plugging my bike into a socket. It does feel like the battery cover is a tad flimsy though but it could just be me being overly critical.

  • Will have a look at it. Will need to get coachie-poo to upgrade as well. Probably drag out WKO3 for as long as possible though.

  • All meaningless until I change the battery in my PM though...

  • Nice! Here's looking forward to getting it.

  • Lots of alternatives to your bank for bank transfers and better rates and zero fees.

  • So why are those Powertap GS hubs still so cheap compared to the standard G3 hubs? Is there some issue with them?

  • Not heard anything. I wonder if they want to focus on their other systems? Their pedals, etc.

  • All their other hubs are full price on the PT store and Wiggle still has the GS for £700

  • I'm not sure what you mean? A G3 is £500 and a GS is £700.
