Everyone I saw on the road this morning was doing a sterling job. I should have asked them what the secret was.

It's the helmet/no helmet argument ad infinitum. I don't think wearing a helmet makes a difference if you're a dick on a mountain bike RLJing, undertaking me at lights and passing indicating buses.

Why don't they put Jeremy Vine on a bike, get him to test the many and varied hypotheses that will doubtless be advanced on his show?

Why don't they just kill him?

In other news, a member of a Volvo forum that I use posted a thread asking for motorists to give cyclists enough room on the roads, this directly after a member of his cycling club was killed by a vehicle ( I think a lorry?) whilst he was racing in a time trial.

This didn't stop another member of the forum going off on one about his "cyclist spearing javelin" with which he was going to rid the roads of the two wheeled menace.

In a thread started about the death (pointless, avoidable, terrible) of a mans friend.

Remarkable, for all the wrong reasons.

Agreed. She doesn't sound like the type of person who considers very much. My sympathies are with her kid.

I hope she can turn things around, but I suspect a stint in prison isn't going to help.

22 years old and gaoled. What a waste. Her life and our money. That's gonna cost us £65K to put her away and then £20K assuming she serves half the time.

I hope they pipe Radio 2's Jeremy Vine on a loop directly into her cell.
